Nyakahanga DD Hospital
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania Karagwe
Diocese provides a variety of services to the residents of three districts
namely Karagwe, Kyerwa and Ngara and employs more than 490 employees.
This diocese serves the adult physically, spiritually
and mentally. The diocese offers a variety of services such as education,
health, water, advocacy, agriculture, livestock, environment and the Great
Commission, ‘the Word of God.’
Nyakahanga DD
Hospital is owned and operated by the ELCT Karagwe Diocese and it was built over
100 years ago and the Chief Physician of this Hospital is called Dr. Furaha
Kahindo.
At the main gate of this hospital you will meet with
the nurse and he/she will have to test and diagnose Marburg disease. The
disease took lives most recent in Kagera region. After these tests the journey
to the hospital right here begins.
The hospital offers many services such as laboratory
tests, radiation, surgery, and care for patients using insurance and many
others.
Nyakahanga DD
Hospital has been doing well for this Kagera region and the whole country in
general where in 2021 it received the award for the best sanitation hospital in
Tanzania. The veteran is just a veteran; many hospitals are now seeking knowledge
from veteran Nyakahanga.
The Hospital is expanding and excelling in service
delivery. Currently a new large private ward is being built to eliminate ward
shortages at the hospital. SHUBTEC Construction Company is completing the ward
worth Tshs 250 million.
