Come and see the beauty of Ngara district.
Ngara church district is among 8 districts found in Karagwe
diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran church in Tanzania. It started as a mission
over twenty years and in 2017 it was officially opened as a district. This church
district is lead by Reverend Oscar Shubira Samwel and it has three parishes
namely Ngara Mjini, Remela and Njiapanda. It has 21 congregations and three
mission areas.
This year of 2023, the diocesan bishop Dr. Benson K.
Bagonza used the Holy week to visit Ngara district and he especially visited
the mission areas. Bishop Bagonza uses the Holy week (one week before Easter)
to visit one of the church district and this year he visited Ngara district. He
preached, went to Ngara district jail to say hello to the prisoners and actually
took some basic needs to them.
