New Pastors in Kituntu-District
Lukanjange.- The Diocesan Executive Council of the Karagwe Diocese decided on transfers in regard to the Kituntu-District. From 1st January 2010, the former district-pastor Rev. Leopold Materu was transferred to the Nyakahanga Hospital in order to work there as a chaplain. He was istalled on 21th February 2010. Furthermore Rev. Modest Byomutonzi was transferred from Kihanga to Nyarutuntu parish (Kyerwa District) and Rev. Aaron Buntuntu who worked many years in Rugela was finally retired.Rev. Anatory Kagaruki was appointed as the acting district-pastor. He is stationed at Katembe and was installed by Bishop Kazoba on 7th February 2010. In 2009 Rev. Anatory completed his First Degree in Theology at the Makumira University. Before his further studies in theology he has worked at a various places in ELCT Karagwe Diocese after being ordained as pastor in 1995. He served in Njiapanda Parish, Ngara and in the refugees camps: Benaco, Rumasi and Rukole, in Nkwenda Parish, in Nyakahanga parish and Nyakahanga Hospital and in Ihembe district as a Parish and District Pastor. He also visited Germany in 2004 for one month visiting Arnsberg, Meschedde, Wittenberg, Berlin and Bethel.
The other two new pastors in Kituntu-District are Rev. Emmanuel Iromba at Kihanga Parish and Rev Martin Mutungirehi at Rugera Parish.
Rev. Gerhard Failing, Dean of the Biedenkopf District, and Rev. Jorg Staehler, chairman of the partnership committee, wrote letters of thanks to Rev. Materu and all the other pastors who supported the partnership in all these last years. At the same time they welcomed the new District-Pastor and his colleagues in the new ministry wishing God's rich blessings to them.
