Twenty five years together in Partnership
Lukajange.- Sunday, 31st January 2010 has been a very important day for the Lukajange–Leverkusen partnership. It was the day where two sides cerebrated together the partnership day between these two Church Districts. “This partnership started in 1985 so today we are cerebrating 25 years of being together in Christ and serving our God by sharing our talents from both sides”, said the ELCT KAD Acting Dean and the Lukajange district Pastor Rev. Emmanuel Ngambeki during his word of invitation at the beginning of the Sunday service.The partnership day is cerebrated at the last Sunday of January every year whereby the two sides get time to pray for the partnership and for the work of God in these two districts: Lukajange -Tanzania and Leverkusen- Germany. In Lukajange district the cerebrations for this year was done at Omurushaka congregation-Nyakahanga parish. The service was led by Rev. Emmanuel Ngambeki, Rev. Eliab Rwenda, Rukole parish pastor, Rev. Elnathan Rubanga,-Nyakahanga parish pastor and Rev. Mapinduzi Jonathan, Nyabwegila parish pastor. Three choirs were invited and contributed to the service with nice songs that made the service becoming lively. Seven children were baptised in the service.
The chosen word for this special Sunday was from John 17:21 “...that they may all be one; even as thou Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me”. During his speech to more than three hundred (300) attending church members, the district pastor Rev. Ngambeki said: “We are all happy today because of the partnership we have with our brothers and sisters in Leverkusen. We are proud of this partnership because it has brought us together and we can share many things together. Our Lord Jesus Christ prayed for us that we may all be one and through this partnership we are one as Jesus wants us to be. We hope that this partnership will stay growing strongly and fruitful to both sides.”
The partnership secretary Mr. Arthur Kanwakaita mentioned the different projects that have been funded through this partnership such as church buildings, pastor’s houses, water-tanks, kindergarten schools, milk cows, LOVTC, Tegemeo School, solar-system in Nyabwegira and Rukole parishes. In the service there was also time to pray for the partnership. Apart from praying for the sustainability of the partnership, Rev. Emmanuel Ngambeki also prayed for the health of Rev. Peter Becker who has been sick for a couple of years.
