“Love Brings Unity” – Farewell to Rev. Anicet Maganya
These words were said by Rev. Anicet Maganya during the farewell party which was prepared for him and his family by the ELCT KAD on 27th January, 2010.The farewell was prepared by the co- workers of the KAD Head Offices in order to say thanks and good-bye to Rev. Anicet Maganya before he moves to his new position at the ELCT Head Quarters in the Advocacy Department in Arusha.During his welcome address, the ELCT-KAD General Secretary Mr. Erasto Kamihanda said: “God has granted us this evening in order to say thanks and good-bye to Rev. Anicet. In fact Rev. Anicet has been a hard worker in our diocese especially in his department of Mission and Evangelism. Therefore it is not easy for us to let him go. But we always consider the unity of the worldwide body of Christ that we are serving. Therefore we are happy to let him go for working in ELCT Head Office in Arusha.
The Bishop Dr. Benson Bagonza of the ELCT KAD also said thanks to God for the gathering. He also appreciated Rev. Anicet’s work at the Head office of ELCT KAD: “Rev. Anicet Maganya is highly respecting the Church’s call and he is not ashamed to be identified as a Church worker. We do believe that he will continue with that spirit and he will be our good representative of the KAD within in the whole ELCT and its twenty dioceses. We wish Rev. Anicet all the best. May God bless you.”
After the Bishop, Rev. Anicet Maganya was given the opportunity to share his thought to his fellow workers and the ELCT KAD in general. First he gave his thanks to the Diocese for letting him go for the new appointment at the ELCT Head Office in Arusha. He also gave thanks to all co-workers and church members of ELCT KAD for the fellowship during his time in the Mission and Evangelism department. Then he read from the scriptures, Philippians 2: 3-4: “Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility county others better than yourselves Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” He insisted on working hard and respecting the ministry. But he also invited everybody to respect the others and what they are doing. He said: “If we work together and respect each other, the job becomes our job and we do it with happiness. The important thing that I ask you all is to pray for each other so that we can be strong to serve our God. Thus our work will be fruitful. Let us keep on loving each other because love brings unity.”
