“I am, with the help of God!”Rev. Gerazi M. Benedict Makes an 80th Pastor of KAD.

Bujuruga: 18th March 2018. Along with the lent season, KAD is going through one more season; it’s a season of Ordination. And last Sunday found Rev. Gerazi Benedict declaring in front of God and all who attended the service that he is ready for priestly ministry. The service was conducted in Bujuruga Paish, and Kibombo congregation. Rev. Gerazi Benedict was born on 12th May 1970, in Kishao village, Karagwe district. He was baptized and received confirmation in Lukajange Congregation. His call to ministry started since 1991 where he worked as an Evangelist until 2014; in 2015 Rev. Gerazi worked as a coordinator of Christian Education before joining Kidugala Theological College for his theological studies. His ordination service was graced by Hon. Bishop Dr Benson Bagonza; together with him were pastors from KAD, partner dioceses of Mwanga and Pare, and Mara.

In his word from 1Kings 18: 36-37 Bishop Bagonza reminded Rev. Gerazi that like the times of Elijah, he is being called at the times of so
many uncertainties and challenges, even in the exercise of priestly ministry. It’s a moment where our society is facing cruel kings like Ahab and demigods. He urged him to pronounce judgment over them without fear like Elijah, and pronounce judgment over the people who mix God with idolatry. “The same God, who called you, has the ability to make you like Elijah, pronounce judgment to your own people, and vindictive kings who are trying to exalt themselves even
over the temple of God, and try to defile the Holy Place, pronounce judgment so that the true God might be praised”.

During the sermon, Rev. Jeremiah Rugimbana reminded the people of their need to reconcile with God and that all socio-political and
economic challenges that we are facing now, contribute to our need on divine dependence .

Rev. Gerazi full of gratitude, requested the people to lift him in
prayers as he is facing his noble task of serving the church.

Rev. Gerazi adds a number of pastors in KAD from 79 to 80. May God's
love and blessing be upon him, and may He give him continued grace, peace and wisdom as he enters the ministry.
