Sermon on the Hill

Home & NewsFrom 17th-19th October 2008 an Open Air Preaching was held at Omubuhenge, Ngara Mission. Axiomatically, it was very prosperous period for all people at Omubuhenge-Mugoma, Ngara to hear from an open air preaching voice which was successfully done aloud through the musical instruments supported by the HERE Is Life Ministry.

Ngara Mission pastor Rev. Uzima Tirumanywa opened by reading a text from Jeremiah 32:27 which was a theme of the meeting. Other preachers were Rev. Faustin Buchocho (see the photo) and Rev. Anicet Maganya from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, Karagwe Diocese. The more people got nearer to hear and see the cinema, the more they were given the Word of God. The more it was getting dark, the more the number of people increased. Those who came were able to hear and see but for those who did not come were able to hear since the preaching took place on a hill where voice went too far from there.

The Open Air Preaching is very fascinating to people because they are very free to come, attend and listed to without any church ethnic disciplines/limits or regulations. So, though being freely, people can easily be caught by the Word of God regardless they are Christians or non-Christians.

Most people felt blissful, especially when they were dancing and playing church music through the choir songs with attractive rhythm from the loud speakers. Commenting, Rev. Buchocho said, “I am very convinced to ask other church leaders to start such a style that by so doing some more people their difficulties in life can be solved by the Lord Jesus Christ through His Word.
