Bishop Bagonza added: “When other people see pastors, they sometimes think we have no weaknesses. And at times we pastors make people believe that we are perfect. This is not true. We are not perfect. So we need the grace and love of God to be strong and stable in faith”
Bishop Bagonza in his preaching encouraged the ordained pastor to depend on the grace of Jesus Christ in order to succeed in his ministry. “Sometimes you might meet with difficulties in the pastoral ministry. Don’t go back. Instead, ask God to strengthen you so that you can overcome all challenges you will face. Put all things under the cross of Jesus and let the grace of God guide you.”
Rev. Anatory Kagaruki, who was the preacher for the Sunday service, read from Luke 17:26-37 according to the Bible calendar. He reminded Christians to get prepared when as we are looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. “We need to prepare ourselves for the second coming of Jesus Christ by surrendering our lives to Him, so that when He comes, He may find us ready for the eternal life,” said Rev. Kagaruki.
After the service, there was a short occasion of congratulating the ordained one. People gave some gifts to the new pastor and his family before he got the opportunity to give his speech, in which he expressed his joy of being chosen to serve God as a pastor. Rev. Geoffrey was very thankful to his parents for bringing him up in a Christian way.
