Visits to and fro Karagwe in 2009

(1) Visits to Karagwe

February – May 2009
Nyakahanga Hospital is now hosting two ladies from Sweden, Nanna and Josephine. These are medical students who came for practise. They came in February and will leave in late may. From 4th-9th March 2009, Josephine's mother and father from Sweden will visit her at Nyakahanga, likewise Nanna's parents will come to visit her at the end of her stay in May.

End of June to middle of July 2009
In the late June a group of ten students from Pittsburg University, USA under the leadership of Dr. Linda will visit Karagwe Diocese as usual (they will be hosted by Nyakahanga Hospital). Pittsburg University has been sending students to do their field activities in Karagwe for about five years now. When they come apart from their studies responsibility they participate to build an orphanage centre which is allocated very close to Nyakahanga Hospital. They will spend about 3 weeks in Karagwe.

25th July – 10th August 2009
Rev. Detlef Prossdorf, Mr. Jurgen Jaeger, Mr. Ekkehard Ruger, Mrs. Hanne Berger, Mrs. Kaethe Voigt, Mrs. Sabine Glueckmann are coming from Leverkusen to Lukajange District. The visit is just a partnership visit which has always an interval of two years.

August 2009
A group of 10 people from Atergris Hospital, Germany will visit Nyakahanga Hospital. It is a partnership visit with a special idea of looking the possibility to support Karagwe Diocese in establishing a nursing school. They are going to spend about two up to three weeks in Karagwe.

(2) Visits fro Karagwe

February – March 2009
Bishop Dr. Benson Bagonza visited Germany up to the Global Consultation of the Lutheran World Federation in Augsburg (see NEWS in February and March 2009 and the PHOTO GALLERY).
Rev. Savera Bishanga also visited Germany about the same time and participated in the same conference as well.

May, June 2009
Bishop Bagonza is invited to Sweden and Danmark. He will attend a three-days symposium on the 100 years of the former Bukoba Bishop Bengt Sundkler, a scholar, church leader and ecumenist.

June 2009
In June a delegation of five people from Nyakahanga Hospital will visit the partner hospital Atergris in Germany. The Tanzanian visitors are Dr. Andrew Charles, Rev. Oscar Samwel, Sr. Petronia, Mrs. Kahumuza and M. Kabululu. This is a partnership visit.

June, July 2009
From 16th June-9th July 2009 a group of four people from Karagwe Diocese will visit Gladenbach District in Germany. These are Rev. Uzima Tirumanywa, Mr. Isaack Kwigizile, Mr. Devocatus Kasinja and Sr. Frolence Gatege. The first three names are from Ngara Mission area, while the fourth one is from Nkwenda Diakonia School. The Dekanat Gladenbach is a partner district of both areas, Nkwenda Diakonia School as well as Ngara Mission Area. It is also a partnership trip.
