Imani EM Primary School

Imani School started in 1999. The aim of our school is to provide standard education in helping pupils to fit in their respective environment after completing standard seven including Secondary education. The school currently has 6 permanent classrooms, one staffroom, four dormitories with the capacity to accommodate 270 pupils, one room used as a library, one duplex staff house, one administration office and matron’s house.

The school is an English Medium School teaching everything in English. This is different from other Government Primary Schools where all instructions are given in Swahili Language except English as a subject. The English language helps our school leavers to catch up very well with Secondary Schools studies.
The school supports students to have body exercise and develop an interest to sports and games by having different games such as football, netballs, volleyball, drums, high jump, low jump and others.

Students & staff

254 students are enrolled: 128 boys and 126 girls. While 20 pupils come from home every day, 234 students stay at the school. The pupils are taught by 12 teachers. This makes the ration of 21 pupils per one teacher. Also there are 11 members of non-teaching-staff including one matron, three assistant matrons, three cooks, three watchmen, one driver and one office clerk.
