Kayanga.- A two days workshop has been conducted in KAD at the ELCT Karagwe Hotel on 5th-6th February, 2010. This workshop was prepared by the Planning and Development department of the ELCT KAD, under the facilitation of Mr. Sam Kayongo the head of the department.
The workshop was opened officially by the acting Dean and assistant to the Bishop Rev. Emmanuel Ngambeki by reading from the scriptures Phil 4:13 “ I can do all things in him who strengthens me” He explained the text that “...by respecting our Lord Jesus Christ we can be able to do and fulfil all things in our plans. I am sure that we are in the right way because the Church is also called to give voice on Civic education and Advocacy as well”
Participants of this workshop were all KAD Church district pastors, head of all departments, projects, programs and institutions.
The workshop focused on three topics namely:-
a) Meaning of Civic education and Advocacy in the KAD context
b) Relevancy of Civic Education and Advocacy to the organization work and
c) Formulation and further development of KAD Civic education and Advocacy strategies.
At the end of the workshop the participants came up with the finalized KAD civic education and advocacy inputs.
The workshop was officially closed by the KAD General secretary Mr. Erasto Kamihanda by saying “We thank you all for the attendance and good participation, we also give our thanks to our partners Dan Mission for supporting this program which is also part of our KAD strategic plan”.
